Thai Foot Massage
'A very pleasant treatment which left me with a good sense of wellbeing.
Relaxing at the time but I felt refreshed going back to work and maintained that
feeling through the day.' - SF, Edinburgh
Aching feet? Tired legs? Thai foot massage can melt away your aches
and pains, leaving your feet and legs refreshed and soothed.
Thai Foot Massage uses elements of shiatsu, Chinese massage, yoga, and
reflexology techniques to work on the legs, feet and, despite the
name, the hands. The legs are moved in various stretches, and points
in the feet and hands worked as in Reflexology .
By manipulating these different points, the body and the mind are
stimulated to restore the balance in that particular area and
thereby throughout the whole body.
The benefits of Thai Foot Massage include:
-
Improved circulation in legs & hands
-
Relief of muscle tension and pain in legs, feet &
hands
-
Reduced stiffness, improved flexibility
-
Stimulated lymphatic drainage, elimination of toxins
-
A feeling of calm and relaxation
-
Improved concentration and vitality
-
Improved sleep patterns
-
Improved ability to manage stress
The treatment is carried out with the client fully clothed
(but with socks off and trousers rolled up), lying on a treatment couch,
and lasts around 30 minutes. It is advisable to wear trousers rather than a skirt,
for ease of movement during the leg stretches.
The time can be used to concentrate solely on the legs and feet,
leaving out the hands if the client wishes.
'I certainly slept soundly the whole night - which I don't always manage.
I had been feeling nauseous, but that feeling completely disappeared as well as
the ache in my feet dissipating.' - AH, Edinburgh
